Between the births of my second and third children (2004 and 2006), my husband was wanting to sell an investment unit he owned. I decided to utilise the free webpage allocated to me at the time by my internet provider. I was already designing graphics through an online chat forum making signature graphics or “siggies” as they were called back then.
I was still fairly new to the computer and internet world and just wanted to create a simple page which I did using basic html. I also started a blog for my design offerings. My love for it saw me branch into more complicated html, css, and eventually php. As my graphic design interests broadened into digital scrapbooking design, I became proficient at installing many different website content management systems such as wordpress, zencart, photopost, vbulletin and more though these were the most common.
I installed and customised many sites which are now no longer active, and since I took a long hiatus from any kind of design for medical reasons (migraines triggered by extended screen use) I also no longer have the preview images for them.
Aside from my own site, I currently have two websites active that I have installed and customised. I love my job working in aged care, it is very rewarding and I don’t have an interest in pursuing web design again full time or even part time, however may take on the odd freelance job here and there. As it’s not something I am pursuing professionally my rates will likely be more competitive than commercial web design business. If interested in having me do your website please use my contact page to get in touch.
